Campus life

Visiting Mizzou's picturesque campus is a must for all parents. The Mizzou visitors page can help you get here and get around while you're here, providing driving directions, hotel information and more.
Books and supplies
One of your earliest visits to campus probably will include a trip to the MU Bookstore. The store's Parent Connection page explains how textbook funds are used, gives you money-saving tips and offers you a way to peruse Mizzou merchandise before you shop.
Housing and dining
No student can go without essentials, such as food and shelter, while at school. The Department of Residential Life's housing guide for parents covers all the bases, while Campus Dining Services provides a guide to meal plans and dining locations.
Health and safety
Your student's health and safety are extremely important to us. You can learn more about Mizzou's services online. The Student Health Center site explains health fee coverage and health insurance coverage. The MU Counseling Center provides a parent resources page. In the case of an emergency, the MU Alert emergency information center will post news and updates. The University of Missouri Police Department makes the Campus Safety and Crime Report available online.
Parking and transportation
The University of Missouri operates a pedestrian-friendly campus. Since most classrooms and residence halls are located within a short walk of one another, motorized transportation seldom is necessary.
For information about shuttle buses, parking permits, bicycle registration, disabled-parking permits and other transportation matters, consult the Office of Parking and Transportation Services.
